Roughing it the civilized way. For folks who are looking to enjoy a horseback trip into the backcountry but with some of the comforts of home.

Package price 2009 $1337.07 (for a couple) is based on double occupancy, taxes are included. Backcountry trips typically run from May-Sept, dependent upon weather conditions.

This package includes 1 night accommodation at the Driftwood Inn in Banff along with passes to the Banff Upper HotSprings and a 2 day backcountry trail ride with one overnight stay at Sundance Lodge.

Spend one night at the Driftwood Inn in Banff to have you in town and ready for an early departure for your horseback trip. Soak your muscles... get them warmed up for your big adventure. The next morning the ride begins. The next two days are spent on horseback, riding and exploring, and the evening is spent in the cozy historical log cabin of home away from home Sundance Lodge.

Sundance Lodge stands on the original site of the horse corral for ten mile cabin, built by Canadian Pacific Railway. Originally used as a refuge for the mountain guides and packers traveling to Mount Assiniboine, it now can accommodate up to 30 guests in 10 sleeping rooms. Although a remote backcountry lodge, they do have solar power which allows for both hot and cold running water.

While in the lodge and on the trail you will be fed hearty and homecooked meals.
