ACCOMMODATION:
Spend a week in Banff National Park in the best family friendly accommodation in Banff - the Douglas Fir Resort. Families love the onsite pools, waterslides and the new multilevel playzone. The unit comes complete with full kitchen, separate bedroom for the parents and loft for the children, 1.5 baths, living room with fireplace and walk out balcony.

GYPSY GUIDE:
This is the perfect tour for independent families. The fun and information of a tour, but in your own car, at your own pace. Just plug it into your car stereo and it will automatically play commentary on the surrounding scenery, tell you where to watch for wildlife, advise you of important upcoming intersections, stories of past adventurers and funny stories about Canada. 1500 points of interest throughout the Rockies.

RAFTING:
The scenic Kananaskis River Raft is perfect for families with young children or nervous first time rafters. Half day option from Banff. 2-3 level rapids. Must be 5+ years.

SIGHTSEEING GONDOLA:
A "must do" while in Banff. A bird's eye view of six mountain ranges and an interpretive walk along a series of boardwalks.

HORSEBACK RIDE:
Morning ride including a Breakfast Cookout. Start your morning with approx a 1hr ride along the Bow River - stunning scenery ending at a cabin in the woods. Stretch your legs and try your hand at calf roping or horseshoes, while they cook you up a cowboy breakfast of steak, eggs, beans and coffee. The return ride climbs up high to the Windy Knoll for fantastic views of the surrounding mountains. Great for beginner or first time riders. There is also the option of riding in the covered wagon for those younger or older members of the family who prefer not to ride.

SUNSHINE MEADOWS HIKE:
Sunshine Meadows is a great hiking option for families, as you are shuttled from the valley base to the high alpine in the limited access area of Sunshine Meadows. Join in the easy Sunshine Vistas guided interpretive hike, along a series of boardwalks and trails, amongst the wildflowers, lakes and mountain peaks. This guided hike is back in time for the 2pm return shuttle. You can also choose to hike on your own with map, at your own pace.
